Beautifiul Private Accommodations for our Guests

Soriano el Cimino

Most of our guests stay in beautifully restored medieval village homes that surround the castle in the village of Soriano nel Cimino. We have five homes dedicated for our cooking vacation guests. Each home has a private entrance, at least one queen bed, private bathroom, and air conditioning. Most of the homes also offer satellite television (with English channels), and three of the homes have wireless Internet access.

We normally set aside one home per couple or per group of friends traveling together. Single travelers have the option of their own private home, paying a single supplement. For single travelers that don't mind sharing one of the homes with another single traveler, we are always happy to refund the supplement if we are able to find a match that both parties are agreeable to.

Sometimes we have more single travelers than usual, and all of our homes are reserved before we reach our maximum group size. When this happens, we offer reserving guests the opportunity to stay in one of two stunning bed and breakfasts in Soriano at no additional charge.

Our Village Homes:

La Campana
Located just below the castle, La Campana features one air conditioned bedroom with a queen, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen/den, and a balcony with a stunning view toward Umbria. La Campana offers wireless internet and satellite television as well. The den area has a queen-sized futon that allows La Campana to sleep up to four people. Walking distance to town center is about 600 feet, and this home is near the top of the hill.
Il Ponticello
Il Ponticello is fully air conditioned and heated. If features a loft bedroom with a queen, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen/den, and a balcony with a stunning view toward Umbria. Il Ponticello offers wireless internet and satellite television as well. The den area has a queen-sized futon that allows it to sleep up to four people. Il Ponticello is about 800 feet from the town center, but not as far uphill as La Campana.
Vecchio Forno
Italian for 'Old Bakery', Vecchio Forno is full of history. In the 13th century, this was the actual village bakery that served the Pope. While smaller than the others, this is the most charming of our homes, with a bedroom completely carved out of rock. It offers full air conditioning, satellite television and wireless internet. The window of Vecchio Forno looks out to the medieval streets of this ancient section of town. Vecchio Forno sleeps two, and is somewhat lower than most of the other homes (about 300 feet from town center), so there is easier to get to.
Il Caminetto
This is the largest of our homes. It features one bedroom with a queen, plus a living room with two pull out beds and a den with another pullout. It sleeps four. It has air conditioning, satellite television, a full kitchen, dining room, and larger terrace with a view of the Tiber Valley. Il Caminetto does not have internet access, but guests always have access to wireless internet as well as a dedicated computer during our cooking classes. Il Caminetto is about 500 feet from town center.

Santa Maria
For those that don't like to walk uphill, this is the place. It features one bedroom with a queen, plus a living room with a queen futon, allowing it to sleep four. It has air conditioning, and a full kitchen. The windows overlook the road into the village piazza. In fact, this home is only about 50 feet from the town center. It is up one flight of stairs, does not have internet access, but guests always have access to wireless internet as well as a dedicated computer during our cooking classes.

 
 

Upcoming Homes
 

We have three more homes that are currently in the final stages of restoration, but will be ready for our 2010 season. We will be posting pictures of these new homes in early March, 2010.

 
 

Backup Accommodations

Ferom time to time for some reason guests may not be able to stay in our primary village homes. In these cases, we use the following:
Il Boschetto
Il Boschetto is a stunning Bed and Breakfast just outside of town. This is not a typical B&B as many might think, as it is completely private. Guests here have their own private entrance, and all private facilities. It features a bedroom with a queen, 1 bathroom, a mini kitchen and den area (with a queen pullout bed) and a balcony overlooking the forest and Soriano below. Up to four people can sleep here. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the woods, peaceful, and great for people that like to unwind at the end of the day. It has air conditioning and satellite television. It does not have internet access, but guests always have access to wireless internet as well as a dedicated computer during our cooking classes. It is about 1/2 mile outside of town, so we offer pick up and drop off service for guests that stay here..
Antica Meta
Antica Meta is an absolutely beautiful Bed and Breakfast just outside of town. This is not a typical B&B as many might think, as it is completely private. Guests here have their own private entrance, and all private facilities. It features a common area for the guests, plus 3 private bedrooms, each with a queen and a bathroom. The location is breathtaking with an amazing view of Soriano, the Tiber Valley and onward toward Umbria and Tuscany. While the rooms are extremely beautiful and comfortable, this location does not have air conditioning or television. It does not have internet access, but guests always have access to wireless internet as well as a dedicated computer during our cooking classes. It is about 1/2 mile outside of town, so we offer pick up and drop off service for guests that stay here.
