OverviewFor those in Soriano and the nearby towns, we start in the town piazza at 10:40 AM. For those coming from Rome, you will take a train from Rome's Termini station at 10:27 AM, and we will pick you up at the Orte station at 11:05 AM.
We will take a short drive to a small family-run winery and antique olive mill in the village of Castiglione in Teverina. The olive mill here is one of the few remaining in Italy that still makes oil using the antique traditional cold press method. We will get a full tour of the olve mill as we learn what makes a great olive oil. Once we leave the mill, we will walk to the family's wine cellar and tour the winery side of their operation.
We will then do a tasting of the olive oil produced here with Bruschetta, followed by a full tasting of all six of their amazing wines. Finally, we will be treated to a buffet lunch prepared by 'Mamma' upstairs, consisting of local delicacies (salami cheese, etc.), Tuscan Beans, various bruschettas, and much more... all while their wine continues to flow.
After lunch, we will return to Soriano nel Cimino, and head down to our own magnificent 18th century villa where all of Culture Discovery's cooking classes take place. Today we will be the dinner we will enjoy together tonight. We will make (and eat):
All cooking is 100% hands on!
After dinner, we will take you back to Soriano if that is where you started. For those staying in Rome, we will head back to the Orte Train Station, where you will be able to get a train to Rome at 9:40 PM, getting back to the Rome train station at 10:45 PM.
