Accommodations in Soriano
This gallery features pictures taken of the various village homes that are used to accommodate our guests for our one-week cooking vacations that are based in Soriano nel Cimino. All of the village homes are located in town within very short walking distance to the village center (piazza) where we meet for all of our classes and excursions. Additionally, all of the village homes are fully and beautifully restored ancient residences with modern amenities. All offer Air conditioning, and most offer satellite television and Internet as well. If a home lacks any of these amenities, it will be noted in the description.
The homes are NOT shared. This means that you will have your own private village home with private facilities. If you are coming by yourself, you will be in one of the homes by yourself. If you are coming as a couple, you will have a home as a couple. If 3 or 4 friends are coming together, you will have the option to share one home (at a discount) or have separate homes.
You will also see photos of a bed and breakfast here. This is for our overflow accommodations that we use when our village homes are full, or if any are out of service. For example, if our maximum group size is 18, and we have an unusual number of singles traveling alone one week, we may need to offer the overflow accommodations. The bed and breakfast is beautiful, and guests we have had in them have always been thrilled. However, it is about 1/2 mile outside of town. In such cases, we offer pickup and drop-off service for our guests staying there.
Ponticello is fully air conditioned and heated. It features a loft bedroom with a queen, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen/den, and a balcony with a stunning view toward Umbria. Ponticello offers wireless internet and satellite television as well. The den area has a queen-sized futon, allowing this home to sleep up to four people. Ponticello is about 800 feet from the town center.
Italian for 'Old Bakery', Vecchio Forno is full of history. In the 13th century, this was the actual village bakery that served the Pope. While smaller than the others, this is the most charming of our homes, with a bedroom completely carved out of rock. It offers full air conditioning, satellite television and wireless internet. The window of Vecchio Forno looks out to the medieval streets of this ancient section of town. Vecchio Forno sleeps two, and is somewhat lower than most of the other homes (about 300 feet from town center), so it is easier to get to.
Archetti is a newly restored home in the Renaissance Quarter of Soriano, to the southwest of Piazza. This gives it a beautiful view of the castle. It has two separate bedrooms with queen beds and one bathroom. It also has a twin sofa-bed in the den/kitchen area, so it can sleep up to five people, but with only one bathroom, 5 people can be tight. The home also has full wireless Internet access, satellite television in the den. The other major benefit of this part of town is that there is no uphill walk from Piazza to get home at night. The total walk to town center (piazza) is just a few hundred feet.
This village home was fully restored in 2010! It is located right in the middle of the town Piazza on the third floor. Windows on one side look out into the piazza, the castle, and the cathedral, while on the other side, you have a balcony with a beautiful view of the Tiber Valley. This home features two bedrooms (a Queen and a Twin), a kitchen, den, and one bathroom. Additionally, the home boasts Satellite television Heating and Air Conditioning. Since it is in the piazza, there is no walk into town from this home, but as in most Italian buildings, there is no elevator, so the third floor requires you to walk 3 flights of stairs.

We reserve this home for guests needing two separate bedrooms. Fiorella is one of our larger homes, featuring two bedrooms with queen beds, a large den and one bathroom. The home overlooks the upper piazza of Soriano, and is only about 50 feet from the main piazza. It has full air conditioning, heating, satellite television and WIFI Internet access. It is up one flight of stairs, so access is very easy.
Located in the San Giorgio area of town, this 2nd floor home is very easy to access without much of an uphill walk. It is just a few hundred feet from the main piazza, and boasts a balcony with a view of Soriano and the castle. There is one queen bed, plus a sofa, full kitchen and bathroom. It offers heating & air conditioning, plus satellite television with English channels. This home does not have Internet, but Internet access is available at the villa when we have our cooking classes.

There is one queen bedroom, a kitchen, sitting area, and an upstairs loft with a queen sofa-bed. The home has one bathroom just off the kitchen. It offers heating & air conditioning, plus satellite television with English channels. This home does not have Internet, but Internet access is available at the villa when we have our cooking classes.

For those that don't like to walk uphill, this is the place. It features one bedroom with a queen, plus a living room with a queen futon, allowing it to sleep four. It has air conditioning, a full kitchen, and 1 and a half bathrooms. The windows overlook the road into the village piazza. In fact, this home is only about 50 feet from the town center. It is up one flight of stairs. It has 3G WIFI internet access, which is sufficient for e-mail. It further offers Satellite television in the den.
For those that don't like to walk uphill, this is a great place. It features two bedrooms (one with a queen and one with a twin), plus a living room, one bathroom, and balcony. It is located in the heart of town, just about a hundred feet from the main piazza. It has air conditioning, and a full kitchen. The windows and balcony overlook the road into the village piazza. It is up one flight of stairs, does not have internet access, but guests always have access to wireless internet as well as a dedicated computer during our cooking classes.
Il Boschetto is a stunning Bed and Breakfast just outside of town. Guests that do not wish to stay in town may request this location. Additionally, we sometimes use it for our overflow.
This is not a typical B&B as many might think, as it is completely private. Guests here have their own private entrance, and all private facilities. It features 3 rooms, each with a bedroom with a queen, 1 bathroom, a mini kitchen and den area (with a queen pullout bed). One has a balcony overlooking the forest, while the other two have beautiful step out patios. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the woods, peaceful, and great for people that like to unwind at the end of the day. It has air conditioning, satellite television, and WIFI Internet.
Il Boschetto is about 1/2 mile outside of town, up the Cimino mountain. Guests that stay here will be picked up in the morning and dropped off at the end of our days after dinner. However, for those that enjoy walking, the walk down to town is absolutely beautiful.

Click on any marker to see the name of the home. Keep in mind, this is a small town, and all of the homes are close. The most distant homes are only about 600 feet from the main piazza.
