Dreams do come true and sometimes they are even better than you imagined

I write this review with tears of joy and gratitude that my Italian dream vacation has come true. When I first began researching Italian cooking vacations many other companies popped up on the internet. When I seriously considered booking my vacation I read about Cultural Discovery vacations. I read the comments, saw the videos and did lots of research. The owner answered my numerous questions and with every step and a racing heart realized that this was the company that would make my dream come true. I was not at all disappointed. My dream cooking vacation was even better than I had dreamt. From the moment Rocky greeted me as if he knew me, I knew I was in a familiar place. The home my cousin and I stayed in during the week was gorgeous. The welcome gifts of wine, fruit, flowers and panini were very much appreciated. The trip was a birthday gift to myself and I found a gift from Paola and Michael the owners. What a nice gesture. My fellow travelers were awesome - we had tons of fun cooking, eating, sampling wine, making cheese, sightseeing, shopping, and just enjoying each others company. The places we visited were spectacular and at no time were we in the midst of huge crowds. One member in the group had special dietary needs and Carla, head cook, made fabulous dishes for her that we all wanted to try. The entire staff would greet us with hugs and kisses every day just like you do with family. I enjoyed most of all being able to spend the week living among Italian families and not loads of tourists. Every morning the same group of older gentlemen would great me with Buon giorno during my morning breakfast at Bar Roma. I would see the same ladies in the evenings walking down our street. I think my favorite event was just watching family and friends taking the time every evening to enjoy each others company in the piazza. They would sit and take the time to enjoy each others company while listening to music some enjoying a glass of wine or beer. I joined them and took time to slow down and enjoy life - la dolce vita. What a fabulous time - I hope to continue the dream and return soon.
