Gnocchi alla sorrentina (sorrento style) are baked potato gnocchi with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil.

Ingredients
1 clove of garlic
olive oil
15 oz tomato sauce
½ cup water
salt
pepper
basil leaves
1 mozzarella
Directions

Saute the garlic in the olive oil (don't allow it to brown)

Add tomato sauce and water

Add salt, pepper and basil.

Simmer for about 10 minutes

Taste. If sauce is a little sour (sometimes the tomatoes' quality is not the best) add a pinch of sugar.

Cut up mozzarella in small cubes.

Pour sauce over cooked pasta, top with mozzarella cubes. Toss and serve.

The hot sauce and pasta will melt the mozzarella
