Polenta with Sausage and Short Ribs

"Another example of my family's northern connections. Polenta was typically a poor man's dish in northern Italy. After my father was stationed in Bolzano (near Austria) during the war, he always asked my mother to make it at home. It became one of our favorite dishes. There are hundreds of ways to make it, but this one was always our favorite"

Ingredients
 2 italian sausages
 1 package of short ribsq
 1 onion
 1 cup red wine
 2 tbsp olive oil
 16 oz tomato suace
 salt
 pepper
 parsley
 1 package instant polenta
 parmesan cheese

Directions

Chop and sauté the onion with the olive oil.

Add the sausages and the ribs. Let the meat brown

Add the salt and pepper

Pour the wine and let it evaporate for a couple of minutes.

Add the tomato sauce and the Parsley

Let cook for about two hours ( You can put the everything in a crockpot and let it cook for six hours)

Follow the directions on the box on instant polenta at hat can be purchased in any italian deli of high end grocery store.

Once the polenta is ready, pour it on a serving dish. Let it cool for about 5 minutes

Place the sausages and ribs on it. Serve with Parmesan cheese.
