About 2 years ago I discovered this adventure and had to postpone the trip until 2012. Along the way we had numerous communications with Michael and Paola that convinced me this would be a unique experience. Well unique, special, etc. etc. does not really describe it.
In addition to visiting sites and beautiful villages that would not make the average tour, we had several informative cooking experiences and we made ricotta cheese (outstanding) directed by the Shepard who had milked his sheep that day; watched 120 proof Grappa being made - and tasted quite a few varieties; made several varieties of pizza (the best I have ever tasted) and watched it baked in a 500 year old oven which was quite an experience and an education.
Michael and Paola have put together the most dedicated hard working staff that quickly become family. The cooking takes place in a beautiful villa and eaten in a unique Cabana with breathtaking views. In fact the entire experience is managed like we are all family and it works beautifully. You can participate as much or as little as you like making it very comfortable.
Being housed in a private apartment in beautiful Soriano just adds to the uniqueness of this venue and allows you to witness and experience the locals and their lifestyle. I now know why there are a large group of alumni who have had repeat visits. Shortly you can add me to the list.
