CDV's niche is cultivating small businesses, farms, and other interesting places and activities that you ordinarily don't have a chance to experience. Whether it be a small olive farm producing high end oil, a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese makers vault in Reggio, a Balsamic Vinegar maker in Modena, or attending 'hands on' cooking classes, it all adds up to a fantastic experience. There are many more interesting side trips that we made and I understand that many more are optional.
I highly, highly recommend this group to set up any Italian excursion you might do. You are treated like family for the entire duration.
