In August my husband and I went to to the Barolo Alumni trip in La Morra. La Morra is in the Piemonte region between Asti and Alba. It is so beautiful there that a photo cannot capture the beauty. Our hotel was a small luxury hotel that was perfect in every way. We visited wineries including, the Marrone family owned and operated winery. The family, especially Denise welcomed us with open arms. We had a few dinners there and the last night they even had a friend come who played the accordion while some of us danced. So much fun.
We all participated in the Mangialonga where we hiked 2-3 miles tasting wines and food from the local wineries.
We had cooking lessons from well known chefs of the region. The trip even included Truffle hunting with a Truffle hunting dog and his master .
The owners of CDV Paola and Michael! have a way of making you feel like a family, and by the end of the trip, we made friends that we hope to see again in the future.
Once you go on a Culture Discovery vacation! you will be spoiled forever! People ask, "which one is better?" They are all wonderful, and, the one you decide on will be the right one.
