Montefalco is a small town just east of Tuscany's Vino Nobile di Montepulciano growing region. This area is home to Umbria's most celebrated wine: Sagrantino di Montefalco. While largely unknown outside of Italy, Sagrantino wine is considered by many to be the best and most exclusive of all Italian wines.
Besides the Sagrantino wine, Montefalco is also known to produce the best Italian olive oil that can be found.
During our weeks based in Norcia, we spend a day here, visiting one of the finest wineries in Montefalco, as well as an olive oil mill that still produces their oil the old-fashioned way: Using the traditional cold press milling process.
