Italians LOVE festivals! It seems that any time of year, there is some festival going on. Whenever we can arrange to visit these festivals, we do. In the springtime, we attend flower festivals, in the summer, we experience amazing music festivals, and in the fall, it is all about harvest festivals.
In May, we have the wonderful St. Eustice festival with Fireworks and parades that will make you feel like you are living in an old movie.
In June we take in the incredible Corpus Domini festival in Orvieto.
In the month of June, we have the fantastic Medieval festival in Viterbo, plus one in Soriano, both of which take us back in time.
In the autumn, we attend wine festivals, the Santa Rosa festival in Viterbo, and for two weeks, we center our itineraries around Soriano's absolutely amazing Medieval Chestnut Festival. All in all, it is full of parades, music, fanfare, and celebration on a scale that will forever remain in your memory.
