Unfortunately, in Italy, it is illegal to provide irons in any type of hotel room or short-term rental property. This is a law created in order to help prevent fires in Italy, and not only can they not provide it in the room, but it is even illegal to loan you one.
What to do:
You may bring your own travel iron, but be sure that it is rated for 220 volts. Simply bringing a standard 110-volt iron will destroy the device, and most travel converters cannot handle the high power requirements of irons, so you risk burning that out, too. Many travel irons that are rated for 220 volts are available at travel stores.
