Deposit & Payment Requirements
All prices listed are in US Dollars. If you are paying in a different currency, your price is locked in with US Dollars, but the price in your currency will depend on the exchange rate at the time your deposit is charged, then again when your balance is due. If you would like to lock in a price with a currency other than US Dollars, you can do so by paying the full amount at the time of your reservation.
- All prices are land only, per person, based on double occupancy. Airfare and travel insurance are not included.
- 20% of the total is due at time of booking to secure your spaces.
- The balance is due 90 days before your vacation begins.

Your all-inclusive price includes just about everything. To make it completely clear, here is a full breakdown of our all-inclusive policy:
Included in the price:
- 7 Nights accommodation in a private room at the Hotel Commercianti in Bologna
- 20 Meals (7 Breakfasts, 6 Lunches & 7 Dinners) as listed in itinerary.
- All cooking classes and associated food costs.
- Culture Discovery Apron & Recipe Book.
- Daily day trips and excursions.
- Wine with all lunches and dinners.
- Transportation during your vacation week to all destinations (Includes First-Class, High-Speed Train to Venice and Motor Coach throughout the week).
- All entry fees for excursions, tours and tastings.
- English speaking vacation host & guides throughout the duration.

Room Upgrades
If you would like to upgrade your room, we will be happy to request it for you. Any additional charges for the upgraded room will be paid by you directly to the hotel.
Arrival & Departure Transfers
Arrivals
While almost all of our vacations include airport and train station transfers, this one does not in order to make it easier on our guests schedules. Due to the ease of public transportation and close proximity from either the Bologna Airport or Bologna Central Train Station to our accommodations, your arrival times and transfers will be at your own discretion.
We recommend flying into Bologna (BLQ) Airport. There are many connections to most major European Airports.
From Bologna (BLQ) Airport: Taxi Service is readily available outside the terminal. The fare to the hotel is approximately 20 euro and can be paid directly to the driver.
From Bologna Centrale Train Station: Taxi Service is readily available either outside the station at street level in the Piazza delle Medaglie D'Oro or inside the station one level down from the street level. Taxi fare from the train station to the hotel is between 10-15 euro.
If you are flying in the same day, be sure to get a flight that arrives before 3:00 PM to give you time to arrive at the hotel, freshen or rest up and then meet us for our orientation and first get-together at 5:30 PM.
If you are already in Italy on the start date, we strongly suggest the train station option, rather than flying to Bologna, unless it is more convenient for you.
If you are flying into a different city there is high speed rail service from nearly all major cities in Italy to Bologna. For example, if you are flying into Rome, you can take the Leonardo Express to the Rome Train Station, then get on the high speed rail to Bologna that takes only 2 hours. Similarly Milan's Central Train Station is only a 1 hour high speed train to Bologna.
Departures
Departures will be at your own discretion. Check-out time at the hotel is 11:00 AM. As noted above, there is high speed rail from Bologna to all major cities including Rome, Milan, Naples, Venice and much more.
If you need a later check-out time, please contact the hotel directly.
Private Transfers:
Due to the close proximity of both the airport and the train station, we highly recommend against hiring. private driver. However, if you desire, we can help pre-arrange a private transfer for arrival or departure.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy as of 2021:- Deposits are refundable within 50 days of booking, so long as they are made more than 180 days before the start date of the tour.
- After 50 days, deposits are no longer refundable. However, if you find someone to take your space, your deposit may be applied to them.
- All further scheduled payments are non-refundable once they are made. If we sell out the tour (including reserve spaces not shown on the website) we can move your full payment to another tour within 12 months.
The nonrefundable portions of payments are due to the fact that we are contractually responsible to pay those amounts for you at those times, even if you cancel. Therefore, we strongly urge all guests to obtain travel insurance as soon as possible after booking. Please click here to read about the importance of obtaining travel insurance
