Food, Friends, Family, Fun and lots of wine!
CDV is a very well run tour, that doesn't feel like a tour, it feels like a vacation with friends and family

My husband and I decided to do this all-inclusive (except for airfare) vacation for our honeymoon! We wanted something different than sitting on a beach or cruise ship, and this looked like a good, fun option! What a great decision!! We had a blast! There was actually another couple in our group, also on their honeymoon! Our group consisted of people ranged in age from early 20's to early 70's, couples, mother and daughter, travel buddies and soul searchers! When we weren't cooking and eating at the villa, we were either touring the countryside and towns surrounding the beautiful area of Umbria and Southern Tuscany, or relaxing in our charming little apartment in the town of Soriano, where we stayed for the week.
We flew into Rome 3 days prior to the Culture Discovery week, and spent 3 days touring Rome and getting over our jet-lag. I would recommend doing something similar, so you are not so tired on your first day with the group! Culture Discovery's instructions on how to get to their meeting spots were very good and we took the train from Rome to the meeting spot, where we were picked up and transported to "our" little village to start an authentic visit in Italy!!
We were greeted in the Piazza of Soriano by our hosts and helpers, Paola (our hostess with the most-ess, whose husband Michael met up with us later for dinner and GRAPA!!), Bill and Carol our tour guides and chef extraordinaire, and Sergio, "Sparky" and Rita, all pivotal in making our week a success! They escorted us to our private apartments and laid out the schedule for the week.
There was a lot of eating, drinking and walking! Seeing beautiful sites, tasting delectable food, sipping delicious wines, and hanging out with a new group of friends!! Even some singing thrown in there! ;-) Culture Discovery is a very well run tour, that doesn't feel like a tour, it feels like a vacation with friends and family! We would definitely consider doing another trip with Culture Discovery!! Sicily perhaps??! ;-)
