The first evening was just the beginning of a wonderful week. We met our guide Ricardo and the other folks on the CDV and it was on! Laughter, great experiences, going into hosts homes and preparing meals, enjoying Port-tonics, wonderful wine and delicious food that we learned how to make. The small wineries we visited was such a great experience, seeing the love and devotion that goes into making wine the way it's been done for generations. Being a bit of a foodie, I totally enjoyed the snacks with wine every where we went. There was so much done in a week, doing crafts, laughing at ourselves & with others as we failed and succeeded. The planned dinners were perfect, varied types of restaurants, different types of food, and all were so good, I don't recall eating anything that wasn't good, even the ones I had never heard of. The CDV concept is very personal and engaging, not rushing a group through a daily set of activities, it's like at a pace that you can take it all in as you experience new things, questions being answered and learning something new every day. We truly will never forget the people we met, it was an experience like nothing we have ever done and we will do it again. CDV the way to live!
