I was searching for a really special adventure for my 50th
birthday that included great food, cooking and adventures. I was
overwhelmed by all the google searches I did but I stumbled upon CDV and the
locations, itineraries and timing worked well – but I was still nervous about a
group trip, which I’ve never done before.
Since I was bringing along my husband, and 3 friends were also joining,
I felt like the trip had to be fantastic.
As soon as we got to the Naples train station and met Valeria,
our guide (and Valentina too) all my nervousness melted away and we began the
most amazing week. Our CDV hosts were wonderful
and so were all the local hosts -
Claudia and Pepe, Tonio and Philomena, Vincenzo and all the others! The cooking classes, the delicious food we
ate every day, the trips we took (to make mozzarella and limoncello, to Pompeii
and Ravello and Anacapri, and all the sights we saw (and steps we climbed))! We were treated like friends and long lost
family. The care and attention of everyone
associated with CDV was a combination of great hospitality, warmth and empathy
and attention to detail.
The others we met on the trip were simply lovely and we
spent time talking, but mostly laughing (and listening to Radio Valeria on our van
rides – if you know you know).
I cannot recommend this trip enough. I hope to be able to go on another again, but
in the meantime, our memories will last a lifetime. Huge thanks to the team at CDV – you have created
an organization that knows how to treat people well and create an amazing
experience for all.
