I was seeking to do a really special trip involving travel, good food and cooking for my 50th birthday. I was overwhelmed by the options when I did a simple google search but hit upon CDV. The reviews were all stellar, the itineraries looked like a match for what I was looking for, and I found that the trip to Amalfi was in line with my timing. But I was pretty nervous about a group trip. My husband and 3 friends were going to join me and I felt like I owed them an amazing experience!
from the minute we met up with our guide Valeria (and Valentina too!) in the Naples train station, I knew I had nothing to worry about. The Amalfi coast is stunning, but it was the people from CDV as well as Claudia and Pepe, Tonio and Philomena, Vincenzo and everyone else who gifted us a truly wonderful experience. The cooking lessons, the delicious food every day, the beautiful, stunning villa (lemon trees and infinity pool - what???!), and all the sights we got to see and the experiences we were able to have (making mozzerella, limoncello, trips to Pompeii, local market, Anacapri, Ravello and SO MUCH MORE...like radio Valeria in the bus (if you know you know)). My small group joined two other wonderful guests and we spent so much time laughing and enjoying everything.
You know how you get to the last day of vacation and you're sort of ready to return? not this time! we could have stayed forever. I am so grateful for the care, attention to detail and empathy exhibited by everyone. The feeling was of fantastic hospitality, warm family and endless discovery.
I could not recommend this experience more. I'm hopeful to someday take another trip with CDV but my memories of Amalfi from 2026 will stay w me forever. THANK YOU CDV!
