So it all happened one wintery day in January 2011 when I got mad and googled cooking vacations in Italy and what popped up but Culture Discovery Vacations. So I called, expecting a call centre and got both Paula Kovnick and Michael Kovnick. Talked to them for about an hour...then again one more time - I was sold. I have never traveled alone to Europe but got on the plane terriified - why??? I was very, very well looked after - snacks in my little apartment " Laura", fresh fruit, a bottle of wine, biscotti, beautiful bouquet of flowers. And of course the cooking, wine tasting and excursions were absolutely incredible. And that was only my first trip with CDV. Been back FIVE more times! Made some life long friends! Every place we go to is stunning and different - Sicily, Norcia/Umbria, Borolo/ Piemonte, Amalfi coast. But this is also very much about family. Everywhere we go we are embraced and welcomed into a family, our local hosts who just enrich the whole experience. I highly recommend this company. They are my family
